Back when I first saw this fuel inlet that Nascar was using, I knew the cut,copy and pasters would simply find a pic to use for templates. If you are offended by that comment, then I’m talking to you ;)

 

I opened illustrator and decided to hand draw this new inlet for the br11 mod. But while doing so, I didn’t pay attention to a few minor things. One being, deciding at what angle or perspective I should draw this fuel inlet. Looking back at my first one, the perspective is right, but the parts showing needed adjusting, and so did the lighting and shadows.

 

Next was the American Ethanol text. I was way off replicating that. I decided to use a new font that resembles what we see on the cars. And I made it quite a bit bigger too.

 

Last, was tweaking the metal surface of the inlet itself. I personally have a really hard time replicating metal textures. This was no exception. I added a little more color for lack of a better term to get the metal to look like………..well………….metal.
